About Us

My brother Josh and I are avid chess players. Since we were little kids, we have used chess as a way to clear our minds and relax. One day, while playing chess in Washington Square Park, we realized how much we enjoy using the concrete chess tables there. Then it clicked! Many other people know and love these tables, but we have never seen them for sale to the public. Since there is a history of entrepreneurial ventures in our family, it seemed natural for us to start a business together selling these tables.

After some research, we discovered that the same family-run business has been producing these tables in New York City for over three generations. Together we formed a partnership to bring these classically beautiful and historic tables to the public for the first time and Concrete Classics was created.
