Concrete is an extremely durable material with excellent surface properties. These tables and stools were designed for New York City parks and, therefore, built to last a lifetime.

The chessboard tiles are green and white marble terrazzo. Because of the organic nature of concrete, colors may vary from piece to piece. Different color marble can be requested see our option CC312 for the current colors offered. The base color of the table and stools is a standard concrete color with a smooth finish.

The freestanding tabletop weighs 240 pounds and the base weighs 200 pounds. There is no installation other than to place the base and stools on a level surface and put the top on the base which fits together on a metal flange. The fixed table weighs over 560 lbs and the fixed stools weigh 460 lbs. These products must be installed in a concrete footing and it is necessary to use an installer equipped to handle the items with machinery.

Once poured, concrete will be more than 75% dry after 7 days. After 30 days concrete is almost completely cured; however, concrete continues to harden for many years after that. Our castings are cured in a controlled environment for 2 weeks before shipping.

In normal use damage is unlikely. In the event a snow plow runs into the table or a vandal attacks it with a sledge hammer, then yes damage might be sustained.

Professional Products Water Sealant coating is a "Dual Purpose" silicone rubber sealant which provides invisible protection from graffiti as well as water damage. The table tops receive 2 coats of sealant whereas the stools are left natural. We do recommend that a sealant is reapplied after 3 years. Please note that some environmental pollutants (such as tree sap) have been known to temporarily stain the concrete.

Use non-abrasive household cleaners for general cleaning. For difficult situations such as graffiti, you can use paint thinner and then paint stripper. You can also obtain a specialty graffiti-removal product. Make sure to reapply a new graffiti coating after stripping graffiti.

All tables are custom produced. From the time an order is placed it normally takes 6 - 8 weeks to make the tables and stools. Shipping time is based on destination.

Many of our tables have been purchased and donated to a school, library, park or other institution to honor a person or even a graduating class. Plaques can be made of cast bronze (CC320) or etched brass (CC325) and inserted directly into the surface of the table, making them flush.

All products are carefully examined before shipment to make sure they are in good condition prior to packaging . If the table or stools arrive in a damaged condition we will replace the damaged piece at no charge. Please document the damage with photos immediately. If the damage is apparent upon delivery, please refuse the shipment as the freight carrier will return the items to us.
